A recent statement from the Guardian read, “Estate agents spend less time and energy marketing property now than 10 years ago because of the internet, but their fees have rocketed alongside house prices”
Of course they are talking about the traditional High Street estate agents but that is exactly the reason why home owners have turned to internet estate agents to handle the sale of their property, or when looking to buy property.
We are all aware that the traditional High Street estate agents have less advertisement costs such as the expensive colour promotional brochures and adverts placed in various newspapers. Why? because our traditional High Street estate agents use the full advantages of the internet and this saves them ££££’s. Do they pass these savings on to their clients? NO
Whereas the internet estate agents pass all the saved overhead costs on to the public allowing much lower fees payable for buying and selling property. Why pay the extortionate fees that a High Street estate agent charges when you can get exactly the same service from an internet estate agents?
The bottom line is that if the High Street estate agents do not seriously review their fees they will not exist for much longer. The rate of them closing down is increasing on a daily basis leaving the internet estate agents leading the property market.
This is all good news for the internet estate agents with only one draw back – and that is increasing competition. However, the good news for property owners is that the increasing competition is making the internet estate agents offer even better service packages at competitive rates.
